Set a Firm Max Spending Number

Every wedding is different, which means that every budget is different! What's never different though is sitting down with your partner and determining the max amount you're willing to spend on your wedding. Whether it’s $10,000 or $100,000, knowing your limit is key! Once you have set a maximum spending number, you can create an outline of where those funds will be allocated.

Prioritize What Matters Most

Start with a generic breakdown, and then redistribute the category funds based on your wedding vision and preferences! Decide on your top three and bottom three priorities, then create a game plan on how you can trim costs in the categories that fall in your bottom three.

Track Every Investment/Purchase

Make sure you're keeping records for all of your wedding spending! This helps you to make informed decisions with spending throughout the planning process. We set our couples up with their own budget expense sheet to track all of their wedding day investments, but you can create your own spreadsheet or use tools like WeddingWire.

Don't Forget the Small Stuff

Taxes, tips, and little extras can sneak up on you! We recommend couples having money set aside in a miscellaneous category to cover any expenses like this that pop up.
